This lesson covers the basics of introductions in Spanish, including pronouns, verb conjugations for the verb "ser" (to be), and basic questions to ask someone about their origins and occupation. Additionally, it introduces some common objects and their translations.

Pronouns

  • Yo - I
  • - You (informal)
  • El/Ella - He/She
  • Nosotros/Nosotras - We (male/female)
  • Vosotros/Vosotras - You (plural, informal, used in Spain)
  • Ellos/Ellas - They

Verb Conjugation - Ser (to be)

  • Yo soy
  • Tú eres
  • El/Ella es
  • Nosotros/Nosotras somos
  • Vosotros/Vosotras sois
  • Ellos/Ellas son

Someone's Description

  • Me llamo (My name is) - for the speaker
  • Te llamas (Your name is) - asking someone else (informal)
  • Se llama (His/Her name is) - for someone else
  • Lo llaman (They call him/her) - about someone else's name (formal)

Countries Endings Rules

  • For countries that end in o, change to a (e.g., argentino → argentina)
  • For countries that end in s, n, or l, add a (e.g., japones → japonesa)

Basic Questions

  • De qué ciudad eres - What city are you from?
  • Y de qué país - And what country?
  • A qué te dedicas - What do you do?
  • ¿Cuántos años tienes? - How old are you?
